Οι Σίμπσονς στο Άουσβιτς

Στις 27 Ιανουαρίου 2020 συμπληρώθηκαν 75 χρόνια από την απελευθέρωση του Άουσβιτς.

Με αυτήν την αφορμή, ο 46χρονος εικαστικός και ακτιβιστής AleXsandro Palombo επαναφέρει σκίτσα που είχε δημιουργήσει με τη διάσημη οικογένεια των Simpsons να βρίσκεται στο στρατόπεδο συγκέντρωσης των ναζί.

Ο Palombo είχε φιλοτεχνήσει τα σκίτσα αυτά πριν από πέντε χρόνια, κατά την 70η επέτειο της απελευθέρωσης του Άουσβιτς, υπό τον τίτλο «»Never Again»: The Simpsons go to Auschwitz» (Ποτέ ξανά: Οι Simpsons πάνε στο Άουσβιτς).

O πληθωρικός Χόμερ εμφανίζεται σκελετωμένος και καταχτυπημένος δίπλα στην ξεγυμνωμένη οικογένειά του.

Ανάμεσα στα σκίτσα, ξεχωρίζει και αυτά της Άννας Φρανκ, ως συμβόλου του Ολοκαυτώματος και της δίωξης των Εβραίων.

Ο AleXsandro Palombo είναι γνωστός για τις σκληρές και σατιρικές εικόνες του που αντλούν στοιχεία από την ποπ κουλτούρα και την pop art και επικεντρώνονται στη διαφορετικότητα, τον κοινωνικό σχολιασμό και τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα.

«Πρέπει να εκπαιδεύσουμε τις νέες γενιές και να τους πούμε τι συνέβη. Και χρειάζεται να το κάνουμε χωρίς φίλτρα και με ωμό τρόπο, ξανά και ξανά, μέσω της ανάμνησης των γεγονότων και με τρομακτικές εικόνες που δείχνουν τη φρίκη του Ολοκαυτώματος και την εξόντωση εκατομμυρίων ανθρώπων. Μόνο η συνειδητοποίηση της φρίκης αυτής της περιόδου μπορεί να δημιουργήσει τα αντισώματα για να αποτραπεί η εκ νέου διάδοση του αντισημιτισμού» δήλωσε στο Bored Panda.
